Mecha For VSF Gaming

Just a quick post, I ran across these over at my local gamestore but didn't pick them up.  But they would be perfect for VSF wargaming!  Check them out on the Reaper website!

New Minis For "When The Navy Walked"!

Sorry it's been a while since I've posted. To be honest I'd run out of "Steam" (pun intended) on the VSF genre. I hope to regain momentum. One thing that will revive my interests is these up coming releases from JTFM Enterprises! I've been looking for some decent casts of the Rough Riders in 15mm and it looks like these fit the bill! Not to mention the British, French and Prussian figures soon to be released as well.

Askari Miniatures

I might be slow on the draw but I just discovered a great miniatures company called Askari Miniatures! They only produce 28mm, so you 15mm fans probably won't take notice. But those of us who bounce back and forth between scales will really like these. At least from the pictures, these look really nice. The proportions were so well done that I thought these were 1/72 scale models (in my opinion this scale seems to have the best body proportions).

These could almost pass for Rough Riders!

PLus they carry Turks, Russians, North Africans, and Pulp Personalities! If you haven't had the chance you really should check them out!

Island Militia

In my alternate history version of Hawaii, individual regional nobles are responsible for maintaining their militias. This is a holdover from the not so distant past of Hawaii where Kamehameha handed out land to his various warlords for stewardship.

The gamer meta-decision to do this was to add some variety and spice to my Hawaiian forces and keep the army from being boring to collect and paint. As such, I have been trying to track down interesting figures that can pass as island militia and I think the above gents will work nicely.

Though I do not have a positive ID on them, I do know they are Minifigs. They are nearly naked, wearing simple kilt-like skirts. they have an odd sort of pill box hat on their heads and an ammo pouch at the hips.
